“Your staff is amazing-so energetic, informative, and inviting. We felt so welcomed. The kids (two years in a row) have said that this is hands-down the BEST field trip ever. We, the teachers, were very impressed with the facilities and with you.Thank you for going above and beyond. You can really tell that you all have a passion for the subject matter you present.”

“Easiest birthday party that I have ever done!! I shared this idea with several friends yesterday at church. Your staff was so courteous and kind. Thanks for a nice, clean place to help the children learn.”

“Thank you so much for a great learning experience. My students had a wonderful time learning about the five food groups. I have been teaching for five years, and I’ve never been on a field trip that was so much fun!”

Kristen Shumaker, Teacher

Donna Burrows, 3rd Grade Teacher

“My students had the best time last week! You all do such a great job of encouraging and motivating the kids to love science! See you again!”

Meg Jenkins, 7th Grade Teacher
Regents School of Oxford

“We could not have asked for more in regards to our Healthworks! experience. The Healthworks! staff made participation in the grant both enjoyable and educational. Our students gained an understanding about nutrition and fitness and how to incorporate both into everday living. They learned skills and lessons that will benefit them throughout a lifetime. The delivery method used by the Healthworks! staff lends itself to many principles of brain-based learning that will involve many memories about the experience in all our children. I am very thankful that my students had an opportunity to be a part of such a great experience. Actually, I would have no reservations recommending the experience to anyone, regardless of their age.

Chris Ferrell, Principal

H.W. Byers Elementary School, Marshall County Schools

Participant in the ARC Grant

“Children who have been here on a field trip return with their parents to have some fun. After going to the Brain Theater and playing on the Funtastic Floor, one of them will excitedly come up to me at the front desk and ask when they “get to go into the other room”. They are, of course, referring to the Learning Lab. And when I tell them that they only go in there when they are on a field trip, their expression changes and they are so disappointed. One adorable little girl about 5 years old walked up one day and said, “Um, is there anybody in the Superman room?” Anyone can come here to play and have fun, but when they come back wanting to experience again the real learning part of HealthWorks!, you know we are doing something right”.
